Multitouch Barcelona

An interaction design studio exploring natural communication between people and technology. They design experiences that merge real and digital into a creative environment where people are invited to touch, play, move, feel as they do in the real world. - I would LOVE to work for these people!!

V&A 'Forever'

Forever - Victoria & Albert Museum

Alyce Santoro

SONIC FABRIC, the invention of sound and conceptual artist Alyce Santoro,
is a beautiful, audible, versatile textile woven from 50% polyester thread
and 50% audiocassette tape recorded with intricate collages of sound. The
sound compositions themselves are a kind of SONIC FABRIC too – strange and
intricate music made by weaving together unlikely combinations of looped
and layered samples of found, created, and collected sounds.

V&A Power of Making

The second exhibition I managed to visit on my trip to London. No photography was allowed here unfortunatley. But I was really impressed with all the artists work, and I will research into more depth particular influences.
The exhibition showcases works made using a diverse range of skills and explores how materials can be used in imaginative and spectacular ways, whether for medical innovation, entertainment, social networking or artistic endeavour.
Making is the most powerful way that we solve problems, express ideas and shape our world. What and how we make defines who we are, and communicates who we want to be.
For many people, making is critical for survival. For others, it is a chosen vocation: a way of thinking, inventing and innovating. And for some it is simply a delight to be able to shape a material and say ‘I made that’. The power of making is that it fulfills each of these human needs and desires.
Those whose craft and ingenuity reach the very highest levels can create amazing things. But making is something everyone can do. The knowledge of how to make – both everyday objects and highly-skilled creations – is one of humanity’s most precious resources.

You are the art work!

Innovative art production company Electroboutique (Russian artists Alexei Shulgin and Aristarkh Chernyshev) create interactive artworks which subtly communicate strong critical attitudes.
Encouraging participation through ‘Creative Consumption’, the artists generate a dialogue with their audiences through works which respond, reflect and re-version viewers in real time. The artworks use languages of pop culture, media and art histories, framed by a tongue-in-cheek appropriation of the language of corporate marketing speak.
Electroboutique pop-up at the Science Museum showcases a series of works made using live data, sophisticated custom electronics and bespoke software. The works have been created over the past seven years, and include two new works commissioned specifically for this exhibition.
At the same time as being great fun to experience and interact with, the works lightly raise more serious questions around art production, design aspiration, technological progress, consumerism, capitalism, media control, and the languages of corporate social responsibility.
