Weaving

Throughout my time at Norwich University College of the Arts I have discovered which technical skills are most suited to me, and which I enjoy doing the most. This for me happens to be weaving. I never imagined myself to be a weaver, and I still love to experiment in other technical ways but my main focus is within woven textiles. Woven textiles is not often found, but it is slowly becoming more recognisable again. And I am glad to be apart of bringing woven textiles back into fashion!
I think what I love most about weaving is the whole concept of construction. From just some yarn on a cone, you can suddenly create beautiful fabrics, which I feel is an beauiful process of creating textiles. Through this process I feel the weaving suddenly becomes very personal to you as you have constructed it together every step of the way.
