Erosion

For the last term of my 1st year I investigated in to 'Erosion' as a metaphor for memories. Here is an explanation of my project;

Erosion is the process of weathering and transport of solids ( sediment, soil, rock, and other particles) in the natural environment or their source and deposits them elsewhere. It usually occurs due to transport by wind, water, or ice; by down-slope creep of soil and other material of force of gravity; or by living organisms, such as borrowing animals, in case of bioerosion.

But what about erosion of the brain? And how over time the brain forgets certain memories as they being to erode. It is interesting how the memory is able to recall thoughts from the past and enrich such information. But although our vision may be clear it also sometimes seems a blur. Time will erode ones memory and the place remembered.

Throughout this project I thoroughly enjoyed experimenting with colour, and expanding my knowledge of drawing with different medias. This is a different topic I have never consider looking into before until now, but I have enjoyed every second of it and it is definitely something I wish to take further.

The first two photographs where taken in Norwich city

The next three are from a skip on the side of the road, Norwich, Norfolk.

The three following painting were influenced by different eroding surfaces and textures, and I made it my main aim to identify colour.
