M a r g o S e l b y

Last Friday at uni we had the great pleasure of woven textiles designer, Margo Selby, come in to give us a talk. She covered a range of topics about her work, commissions and projects to how she developed from her studies to create the amazingly successful business that she now owns . After, we also had individual tutorials with her which for me  was amazing! She understood my work really well - which gives me so much encouragement and confidence, Margo really  made me open my mind to the different ways to approach my own weaving, which I will make sure I now follow through into my studio practise. A fantastic weaver and such a great inspiration!

Margo trained at Chelsea College of Art and Design and followed this with a postgraduate degree at The Royal College of Art (RCA), graduating in 2001. She got a fantastic response for her fabrics following the RCA degree show, this is when Margo began to develop relationships with mills to explore the possibilities of production.

Most recognisable for her fun and bright colour pallets and innovative circle weaves, Margo designs for both fashion and interior.
